So this is what happens when you spend a day with a photographer (that's me) following you around. Walking around NYC was anything BUT boring. It fulfilled most of the cliches that it is known for. It was exhilarating, adventurous, exhausting and most of all, random. There were the pictures we "planned" and then there were all of the pictures that we actually got.
And that is why I love what I do.
The first plan was to head out of their apartment. Instead we stuck around with some mimosas on the fire escape for about an hour.
Then there was the plan to head to a nearby mural, but we couldn't help but have them sit in two large chairs cluttered outside of an antique store. I mean, they were screaming "come sit in me!"
Then there was what they thought they were going to do in front of the mural and what I actually made them do- DANCE PARTY!
A pit stop from the hot mid-afternoon sun led us wandering into a taco joint where we sat and ate, took some photos, ate some more, and had tequila shots. (A gift from another table to say congrats to the happy couple)
And that damn umbrella that we carried around all day because it was supposed to rain. Well, we had to use it at least once rain or shine.
Then more murals- one unplanned one for a kiss and then off to the mural of the skulls with a heart. As we walked away from the mural, we were stopped by the artist who saw us photographing in front of his painting as he happened to be walking by himself. He got such a kick out of us there and decided to jump in a shot or two. But not before telling us his entire story and inspiration for the piece.
And as if that wasn't enough, a two mile walk to head under the bridge to end the photo shoot was much needed no matter how tired our feet were. It was totally worth it. (Thanks for hanging in there Natalie)
Natalie and Scott- not only was it totally amazing to photograph and spend time with you guys, I'm so happy that I have these wonderful images to hand over to you that show off the day together.
