The familiar face of
Heritage, you know, one of your favorite baristas behind the counter who has all
of your drinks memorized and adds her personal touch to every drink, Delaney.
She may be
barista by day, but she is mom by night.
Mike and I’s little guy,
Bennett, is not the only kid growing up around bikes & coffee. Delaney’s
girl, Tigerlily has spent her fare share of time playing with the black and
white stickers, eating cheerios at the bar, running up and down the shop floors
and begging for another apple juice.
Here is what Delaney had to
say when I asked her about some of Tigerlily’s favorite things.
(Well, besides hanging out with mom at Heritage)
“Bananas, maple syrup (the
pancakes are pretty incidental, honestly), cheese (you can trick her into
eating almost anything if you tell her it's cheese), jumping on the bed, pushing
her stroller , running (the other day she actually joined a man on his
jog, which he found hilarious), blocks and Legos (she's very mechanically
inclined so she likes anything that involves putting pieces together), going
through the refrigerator and stacking everything on top of everything else
(which drives me INSANE), checking the mail, hitting the cats, reggae (she
loves Bob Marley above all, especially 3 little birds), giving things to people
(she loves to go around the room and find phones, purses, scarves, hats, coats,
shoes, etc., and bring them to their owners while identifying the person and
the object. example: Mama phone or Darcy shoes), Curious George (we don't have
a TV but we do have Netflix and she is only allowed to watch one program, which
is Curious George, so by default it is her favorite), reading stories at
bedtime (her favorites are Madeline, Good Night Chicago, Pete the Cat: I love
My White Shoes and a book about a sheep who eats the whole world and then gets
lonely so he throws it up and is reunited with his best friend Molly- very
post-modern), painting/drawing/marking stuff, the freeze-dance game (this
consists of Tigerlily turning the music on at which point everyone must dance.
when she turns the music off you have to freeze, which she thinks is HILARIOUS)”

“Tiger walked at 10 months
Her first word was
She knows how to get on
YouTube on an iPhone and also how to change and start vinyl on a record player.
Her favorite command is
"more jump," and if you do not she will try to physically make you.”
